WhatsApp is planning to bring a set of new features. On bringing these new features, the company seem to intent upon establishing the application as one that makes use of visual features like images and videos. Definitely it isn’t the first app to get these features. However, the applications massive reach mean that visual communication is now set to become totally mainstream.

 

Here are the new features which are first rolling out for the company’s iOS application. It is confirmed that these features are rolling out to iOS, though it hasn’t announced a schedule for Android yet. 

Visual Filters

First is visual filters. As the name tells, this feature will allow you to apply a bunch of visual filters to pictures, videos and GIFs that you send within the application. In the first go, the company is starting things off with five unique filters.

These filters will help you to do a bunch of things, which includes correcting poor lighting. We can expect the company to introduce many more filters when things start off though. Simply capture a picture or a video and then apply any filter out of pop, black and white, cool, chrome, and film. 

Album

Next feature is the Albums feature. You can now send four or more photos or videos to someone and WhatsApp will automatically group all of them into a single album. This will allow you to send media with more cohesiveness to other users.

Meanwhile, the receivers will be able to click on the album and then swipe through the images easily at their end. 

Reply Shortcuts

The last feature on the list is reply shortcuts. With this new feature, the users will be able to reply to a message in a particular thread by simply swiping on it. Swipe on a message and it will be relegated to the bottom of the chat window allowing you to type your answer.
