Avoid any caffeinated or alcoholic drinks. But, a drink of herbal tea or warm broth may help you stay hydrated and get a little more energy.

3. Take a Hot Bath

Your body needs the energy to recover. Even if you can't handle much, regularly eating small amounts of food is advised.

This could include a piece of dry toast or a bowl of tomato soup. Anything you can manage will help you get better quickly.

5. Take Medication

There are many types of medication that you could take when you have flu or cold symptoms. You can usually get everything you need over-the-counter.
