Does technology provide for a better life, or is it a bane?

HARIDHA P776 03-Jan-2023

It is important to remember that technology is a human invention. It is a requirement for everyone in the current situation. Similar to democracy, which is defined as being of, by, and for the people, it appears to be. It appears that technology and this idea are related.

The technology's origins can be traced back to the human robots that operate nonstop for 24 hours. Technology is created by, for, and with the help of human robots. The new digital world has supplanted the streamlined version of our lives in an interesting way, and every second seems to be slipping away.

Actually, the rapid development of Internet connectivity is a result of globalisation, which has increased social, cultural, economic, and political linkages. A significant development that resulted in the sharing of thoughts, opinions, images, and videos was the development beyond boundaries and exchange of tech culture.

Technology Culture

Technology has not only improved outcomes but has also replaced the time when people had to wait for postmasters to read their letters. There is no longer a need for telegrams or postcards. The day when people used to stare up at the sky and speculate about their destiny is long gone, in fact. A single platform called 'social media' has brought the entire world together thanks to the development and evolution of technology.

So let's be sociable everywhere, shall we? Even if you're running late for work or getting a massage, a brief check at Facebook or Twitter or a quick conversation on Skype can help you stay in touch with loved ones and give you a good sense of where you are. Undoubtedly, a revolutionary period had begun, one that had a profound impact on communication.

The need to read the newspaper or call friends on the phone or messenger is no longer necessary, which makes a laborious activity easier. Unquestionably, it has been a wonderful accomplishment in the area of tech culture. However, it has benefits and drawbacks.

The benefits of 'technology' are as follows:

The rise of technology products: There is no denying that technological development in the shape of gadgets, high-tech TVs, radios, iPods, smartphones, IPads, and PlayStations has lessened our concern over looking for encyclopaedias manually in the library. We have access to anything we desire, whether it is a library, online games, or online shopping.

Online living: At a time when human connections are eroding, a high-tech version of isolation has offered us a new way to take pleasure in life. Nobody anticipated the dramatic changes brought on by the century that would effectively bring a large number of individuals within the social media tent. Anyone can reach anyone within a minute or two on social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

Digitization: A brand-new, wacky weather pattern has just started, and it has begun to move toward the digitising wave like a swarm of flies. Tech culture slowly consumes the entire globe, regardless of how we appear or how we are dressed. Notably, technology has kept us above average in terms of development and growth over the years. Technology has been seen to be beneficial on its own. Technology, however, has drawbacks of its own. The use of technology, such as social media and highly regarded gadgets, has a number of drawbacks.

Data Security: Data security guards against data theft and other breaches of agreements to save, gather, and store data.

Crime and Terrorism: Crime and terrorism are a component of the dark web of trade, which makes various cyber authorities potentially involved. As a result, social media serves as a middleman for the dissemination of information through images and videos.

Privacy issues: Privacy in this digital age is at risk. Important information about you could be stolen and sold. Harassment, cyberbullying, and impersonation result from privacy settings without the right guidelines.

Addiction: Social media is important in many ways. However, a teen is abusing themselves if they use social media for more than nine hours every day. Vision blurring, fear, and headaches are possible side effects.

It is up for debate right now, though, whether technology is a blessing or a curse. In conclusion, it is safe to say that a sudden fixation with technology and social media points to a major problem.

The ability of people to concentrate has been severely damaged by the high-tech society of today, where social media is a simple and convenient way to escape from the reality of life. A manic attack is being caused by too much time being spent posting statuses on social media.
