Google has announced the release of Android 12 (Go edition). According to the business, the lightweight operating system (OS) would be available in 2022 on low-cost entry-level handsets. The news comes just two months after Google released Android 12 for its Pixel smartphone line. Google claims that over 200 million people have downloaded and installed the lightweight Android (Go version) OS on their phones in the four years since it was released. As part of the next version of Android Go, which will be released next year, the firm promises quicker app launches, increased privacy, longer battery life, additional translation tools, and app and device sharing. With Android 12 Go, Google claims that entry-level devices would be able to access applications 30 percent faster. When an app is launched, the SplashScreen API, which displays an interstitial screen with the program's icon, will also be available in Android 12. (Go edition). The API enables the user interface of an app to load in the background before being presented to the user.
Affordable Android Go devices will have greater battery life and storage next year, since the operating system will hibernate unneeded apps. According to Google, the Data Go app, which is available on all Android Go devices, would allow users to restore lost files for up to 30 days. Users will be able to share programmes directly with each other and store data via Nearby Share and Google Play . The Android Go system interface will also be improved in the future release, according to Google, including a rapid user profile switching option on the lock screen. Meanwhile, two new buttons will be added to the recent applications page (or overview) that will allow users to translate or 'listen' to any on-screen material.
