Formula 1 returns to Melbourne for the Australian Grand Prix
The Australian Grand Prix of Formula One is finally arriving in 2023.
Following a fantastic race in 2022 that attracted record numbers to Albert Park, Melbourne is eagerly awaiting the event's return.
Daniel Ricciardo, a fan favourite, won't be racing in Melbourne this time, but Oscar Piastri, a driver for McLaren, will give viewers another Australian to root for.

The 2023 Australian Grand Prix will take place when?
- The Australian Grand Prix 2023 will take place from March 30 to April 2, 2023.
- A new contract agreement ensures that F1 will continue to stage a race in Melbourne through at least the end of 2037.
- The Formula 2 and Formula 3 racing championships will also be represented at this year's Grand Prix, making them an integral part of the weekend.
Albert Park renovations and the 2023 Australian Grand Prix circuit layout
Before the 2022 Grand Prix, the Albert Park Circuit received some improvements; these improvements, along with a new addition, will be carried over to this year's race.
This year's race will have a fourth DRS zone between Turns 8 and 9, making Albert Park the only F1 circuit track with more than three activation zones.
According to Australian Grand Prix CEO Andrew Westacott, this additional modification will make this year's spectacular "the quickest race in Melbourne ever."
According to Westacott, who spoke to the Herald Sun, "you've got the development of the vehicles from last year; they've definitely become better, and the fourth DRS zone means the cars will be quicker at the rear of the circuit."
Seven turns were altered last year, with two being completely deleted, to provide for more passing possibilities and to encourage quicker and more aggressive racing.
In addition, the chicane at Turns 9 and 10 was taken out.

Tickets for the 2023 F1 Australian Grand Prix and resellers
The 2023 Grand Prix ticket sales reflect the fact that Formula 1 is now extremely popular in Australia.
Following each of the first three releases, as well as an additional fourth release, the majority of tickets kinds were swiftly purchased.
- On Saturday and Sunday, Park Pass (general admission) and grandstand seats are already sold out, however, some hospitality packages are still available and may be ordered through the official Grand Prix website.
- F1 Australian Grand Prix viewing options include a channel, free-to-air television, and streaming
- The Australian Grand Prix will be broadcast live on free-to-air television and is a part of the Australian Government's anti-siphoning list.
- Channel 10 now airs racing highlights from each Grand Prix, and starting in 2023, it will telecast the entire action from Albert Park.
- The event will also be covered by Fox Sports and Kayo, who broadcast every race live during the season.

- The grid has undergone a lot of adjustments from the previous season.
- Incidentally, fellow Aussie Oscar Piastri has taken Daniel Ricciardo's spot at McLaren.
Other notable changes include Pierre Gasly's departure to Alpine, Fernando Alonso's switch to Aston Martin, Nico Hülkenberg's comeback to Formula One with Haas, and Logan Sargeant and Nyck de Vries' respective F1 debuts for Williams and Alpha Tauri.

- In 2022, Charles Leclerc dominated the Australian Grand Prix, taking home his second victory of the year in a race where Max Verstappen, the future world champion, failed to finish.
- The Monegasque driver won all 58 laps in Melbourne, but Carlos Sainz, another member of the Ferrari squad, had less luck. He spun out on the opening lap while attempting to make up for a bad start.
- George Russell of Mercedes and Sergio Perez of Red Bull completed the podium at Albert Park.
