In this article I am introducing the latest version of Windows Operating System, Windows 8 and Windows RT.

Windows 8 is a completely latest version of Windows OS, and we can also say that Windows 8 is succeed version of Windows 7, in addition to the traditionary desktop, If you like the simplicity and user interface of tablets, you will likely love it. It’s also including a new-style interface for use with touch screens laptops, PCs or tablets. Windows 8 barrows the some designed from the Microsoft Windows 7 phone Operating System. Windows 8 released in both X86 and ARM Windows RT (Run Time) flavors on 26th October 2012.

Windows RT: RT stands for Run Time a consumer won't be able to buy it in the open market but it is important that you know about it. Windows RT is the most basic version of Windows 8. It is meant ONLY for computers or tablets that run on ARM processors. This means, if a tablet or computer runs on AMD or Intel processor it can't be powered by Windows RT. At least, not at the moment.

Interface:

Microsoft introduced Metro Interface in Windows 8 and the Metro Interface is the default home screen of Windows 8 operating system. Through the Metro Interface we can customize the devices without opening your application. You can change the Windows 8 color scheme as your flavor by login in into your account as like change the setting of your any social networking or mail account by login into its account. Windows 8 ditches Windows' familiar Start button and adds a home screen instead the Start button with tiles making the O.S look especially like to a phone. By removing the Start Button Microsoft tried to simplify its operating system. When this O.S is referring the Metro Name was ditching and gives the new name which is “Window User Interface”.

Windows 8 Touch:

Windows 8 works best if you have computer or laptop with a touch screen. Metro Interface is new and it’s also designed to work best with touch-enabled devices. The new Start Screen is an interface that's built for touch. You can quickly get to the programs which you want by the help of “Window User Interface”. Windows 8 Operating System improved the On-Screen Keyboard and handwriting recognition. Many peripherals such as touch mouse and track pads have support for new Windows 8 gestures.

Windows 8 App Store:

Windows 8 have its own app store for downloading the apps for its consumer.

Windows 8 Start screen:

Start button only appears when your mouse hover on the left corner of the bottom and after that you will take the Start screen. The Start Screen can be used as an application launcher for desktop apps.

Windows 8 security features:

Windows 8 improves on existing security features, and adds new ones that make the operating system even more secure than its predecessor windows 7. Microsoft is expanded the Windows 8 support for embedded hardware security, Windows 8 Operating System introducing secure boot and signed application and enable the alternate authentication schemes.

Hardware requirements:

Microsoft has said that any computer that is running Windows 7 can run Windows 8 with easily. If you want to be specific, Microsoft says that a machine should have:

1GHz or faster processor, 1GB RAM for 32-bit or 2GB RAM for 64-bit, 16GB available hard disk space for 32-bit or 20GB for 64-bit, DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver. For Modern UI apps a screen with a resolution of 1024x768 pixels is mandatory.
