Technology often makes life more complicated. That is quite strange and should not happen in the real environment. On the contrary, if we are speaking of the workplace, effective technological solutions are able to have a very positive impact on the mood and overall emotional and physical state of employees.
You just have to pick the right software tool, so it seems.
The company named Verint (NY-based customer intelligence solutions developers) together with Opinium Research made a survey of 34,000 customers from 18 countries. The result of it was released in the form of the report called “Engagement in the Always-on Era: How humans and technology work hand-hand to meet rising expectations”.
According to the responses, it is easy to track the huge correlation between the provision of the right technology to the employee and their overall feeling of happiness.
Let’s dive into the results of the research.
Workers are OK with being happy while feeling stress at the workplace.
78% of the respondents are happy at their current workplace, while less than a third of the workers (29%) experience low-stress level during their work.
78% of the respondents welcome technology at their workplace. 71% have nothing against using tech solution to replace routine manual tasks and 69% think that tech is able to enhance their job.
72% of the respondents who admitted they don’t have much stress at work say they have access to the technology to work productively, and 64% believe that it is the automation that helps reducing workload and stress.
69% of workers don’t expect to be replaced by the technology at work while being sure that the tech will enhance their jobs.
78% of respondents are enjoying the information supplied by the tech solutions at the right time.
This is the exact effect that Elinext, a custom software development company from Belarus is trying to achieve while supplying its customers with the top-notch solutions. Our Enterprise Resource Planning systems ease up the lives of thousands of employees at different companies across the world.
At the same time more than a half - 55% of workers have asked their employer for better technology to increase the efficiency of their efforts. That means there are still areas to improve on the way to digitalization at work.
Some regions were more unwelcoming to the tech solutions in the workplace than others.
Verint made a conclusion on that there is some work still to be done on educating employees on the value of technology and benefits it might bring to their job.
58% admitted they want their employer to embrace the powers of Artificial Intelligence for better automation.
As for the demographics of the respondents, those aged 35 or under were 260% more likely to ask for technology to enhance their effectivity in comparison with 50+ respondents, and 100% more inclined to ask the employer about AI integration.
Should these elements of worker satisfaction be incorporated, this would allow reducing the stress of the workers and would be especially helpful for those experiencing 'always-on' 24/7/365 nature of work.
These are the words of Krysten Emenecker, Senior VP at product strategy group, Verint:
'Automation done correctly can make humans more human and make companies more successful in this competitive age. When humans have to work in a robotic fashion, this repetitive work burns people out, so when we introduce automation in an intelligent way, we open the door to humans being able to spend more time on loyalty-creating connections.'
We could all agree that companies that include their employees and customers in the campaigns on digital transformation and are more willing to use the technology get happier workers and are looking more prepared for shifting trends in today’s tough competition for the niches on the market.
