Invisalign is clear braces that do the job of metal ones, opting for solid plastic trays that are made to specifically fit a person, including those with gum disease in Everett. It looks better than metal braces as they are transparent, and do not damage the mouth like metal braces. This aligner will move the teeth to the desired position, and the trays are changed every two weeks with each one being different to accomplish the desired results. While these aligner trays can be taken out for brushing, flossing and eating, they need to be in the mouth the rest of the time, at least 22 hours a day. It usually takes around a year to complete, but the orthodontist will keep track of progress through conducting exams to see when the desired results will be achieved. Factors such as age are taken into consideration.

Great For Adults And Teens
Adults and older teens are the target base for Invisalign. The reason being these groups no longer have teeth that are growing in. Once the teeth stop growing, it is finally time to think about problems that could lead to a lack of confidence as well as dental issues. For many, the first step is getting in touch with their oral care professionals to address these issues. An orthodontist will go over whether or not this is a good option after taking into account the alignment concerns of a patient including:

•    crooked teeth
•    gaps
•    over or underbite

Drawbacks
As always, there can be drawbacks or reasons that Invisalign treatment doesn't work for everyone. First and foremost, a dentist and orthodontist can help assess what works best for the patient, even if this is not the preferred method. These trays will not work for someone who has a severe problem like a big overbite or larger gaps. They should not be recommended for dental problems that require a shift of the jaw. If a patient has a bridge, Invisalign could create more issues and is usually a bad choice. At any point, the orthodontist or dentist may decide to change a patient over to the metal counterparts. If this happens, the Invisalign trays can no longer be used.

VS Metal Braces
For a long time, teens and adults have had to put up with the unattractive metal braces. There are pros and cons to both types of braces. Metal braces are not removable, while Invisalign can be removed when needed by the patient. The time braces need to work is different, where the time period with Invisalign can be much shorter. Of course, not all patients are the same and times need could be the same or more than what’s required by their metal counterparts. This all depends on the unique shape, contour, and details of each individual’s mouth. Invisalign is transparent and these clear aligner trays cannot be seen. If the feeling of metal braces is of concern, then Invisalign might be the answer as they feel lightweight and don’t push against the lips. It also saves money on repeated visits and additional items that have become commonly associated with metal editions such as bands and wax.
