Every cell, tissue, and ***** in your body needs water. A glass of glass-glass of water is the best way to stay hydrated all day.
But what kind of water is this? Some believe that alkaline water is better than tap water. But there is no research to support this.
What separates alkaline water?
Water is made up of two elements: hydrogen and oxygen. Hence it is called H2O. The pH of running water from 0 to 14 determines how acidic it is. The pH level of 7 is considered neutral. The number 'seven' is neutral or equilibrium between acid and alkaline. Water is 'acidic' if its pH is less than 7. If more than 7 it is 'alkaline'.
According to EPA regulations, the pH of tap water should be between 6.5 and 8.5. Still, the price of tap water in the United States can be as low as 4.3 and 5.3, depending on where you live.
Depending on whether it is claimed to be alkaline or not, bottled water is subject to various requirements. Bottled alkaline water has a pH level greater than 7. Manufacturers sometimes use special equipment to change the chemical composition of water. At other times, they modified the pH of the water by adding fertilizer.
Orange juice pH is 3.3, black coffee pH is about 5. The pure water pH level is 7. However, tap water in the United States is lower than that, which drops to 4.3.
Investigation of medical claims
Proponents of alkaline water argue that a higher hydrogen content is better hydrated than regular water, especially after strenuous exercise.
According to proponents, drinking water with a pH of less than 7 regularly can cause a lot of acid in your blood and cells. They blamed the low pH of any ordinary water for everything from osteoporosis to cancer.
High alkaline water reduces the acid in the bloodstream and:
- Increases metabolism
- Increases your energy
- Slows down the aging process
- Increases digestion
- **** Reduces degradation
Proponents of high pH water claim that it can kill cancer cells by starvation.
Can alkaline water perform all these functions?
The health benefits of alkaline water are based on marketing rather than research. There is not much evidence to support them.
Your body can also maintain a constant pH level on its own. Your kidneys act as a natural filtering mechanism. They are responsible for keeping the acid level in your body under control. When your blood becomes too acidic, your body responds by expelling excess carbon dioxide.
The greatest equalizer is your stomach. Everything you eat and drink is neutralized by your stomach fluids, which are made up of digestive enzymes and hydrochloric acid. In other words, alkaline water re-acidifies your stomach, which can deliver any health promises it has made.
What does it taste like?
Alkaline water can be hard or different from tap water. It can change any flavor you add, such as coffee or tea.
Is it safe?
Alkaline water does not cause any serious health risks unless you have kidney problems. High pH makes your skin dry and itchy, as well as causes stomach pain, but that's all.
However, just because something is safe does not mean it will benefit you. Fill a large glass of water at the tap for all purposes.
