This is primarily due to the traditional cloud computing model, which depends on servers centralized in one place. The end user must wait while the data travels thousands of miles if they are in another nation. Such latency problems can seriously impair an application's performance (especially for high-bandwidth media, like video). Because of this, many businesses are switching to edge computing service providers.

By bringing compute, data storage, and data analytics as close as feasible to the end user location, modern edge computing.
