A brand new Pasco County PAL program is being offered to parents and caregivers to help maintain a safe and healthy home. The Family Violence Prevention Program (FVPP) will offer an easy-to-follow, effective, and affordable 10-hour course that will provide practical, hands-on strategies for preventing family violence.
'Family violence is a real concern in Pasco County,' said Dr. Corrine M. Dowling, Pasco County Health Department Director. 'We are excited to be offering this free course and hope that it will help parents and caregivers protect their families from violence.'If you are a parent in Pasco and need a little more help with your child's education, the Pasco School District is happy to provide some resources. The District offers a Pasco Parent Zone, which includes a variety of resources for parents. Learning Continuity Planning is a process that helps organizations plan for the future, and prepare themselves for the inevitable changes that will happen. This process has been designed to help organizations identify points of change and plan how they will manage these changes. The process helps them understand what skillsets are needed in the future and what skillsets are currently being used. The main goal of this process is to help organizations make sure that employees have the right skillsets for their jobs to continue their work seamlessly.
The following is the process of how we ensure that our students are provided with opportunities to continue learning throughout the summer.
1. The STEM faculty and staff work with the district to develop an academic plan for every student.
2. The developmental support staff will provide support to students who need it (e.g. reading, math, social skills)
3. Students who need additional academic support will participate in a summer program, such as a summer enrichment program or a summer school program.
4. Students who are on a year-round schedule will continue with the same schedule during the summer months
