Role of technology in Ayurveda

We are currently experiencing an unparalleled period of transition, which is now generally acknowledged. The extraordinary rapidity of change we are currently going through, however, might be less obvious. Today, many new technologies and breakthroughs can be explained by Moore's law, which states that computer capacity doubles every few years.

The avoidance, mitigation, and amelioration of negative outcomes or injuries resulting from the procedures of health care constitute patient safety, a subset of healthcare. From basic charting to more sophisticated decision assistance and interaction with medical equipment, health information technology encompasses a wide range of technologies.

Additionally, the amount of information being produced is growing tremendously and is becoming more readily available at the click of a mouse, for both good and bad reasons. The new generation is distinguished by its rapid uptake and dissemination of new tools. An age gap in technology is being exacerbated by these quick advancements. Today's pupils are developing as 'digital natives,' but their professors are only able to function as 'digital immigrants,' as the expert on digital education Marc Prensky has claimed.

Any study of medicine must include:

Knowledge of medical diagnoses, drug combinations, treatment philosophies, etc.

Techniques for administering/preparing medicines, performing medical or surgical procedures

According to the demand for diagnosis, management, treatment, etc., technology is produced or implemented.

A wide concept, information technology in medical education and health care includes processes, tools, and strategies that can be applied to enhance the delivery of healthcare and facilitate health education. This idea is supported by cutting-edge technology and comprises sophisticated technological models, software programmes, and hardware equipment. By the year 2000, computer-aided diagnosis, according to Schwartz's prediction, will play a significant role in medicine. This will increase the doctor's IQ. The use of health information technology in clinical practice will reduce missing, delayed, and inaccurate diagnoses.

The application of technology to traditional systems, like Ayurveda, will be advantageous in many ways. This is true from both the patient's and the healthcare professional's perspectives. The delivery of Ayurvedic healthcare services, standardization, and medication control will be made easier by technology.

Darshana (epistemology), a compendium of the scientific role of technology in Ayurveda, serves as the foundation for the development of scientific Ayurveda. The philosophical theory of knowledge known as darshana, or epistemology, is actually based on Vedic physics, chemistry, biology, and knowledge of aerodynamics, hydrodynamics, astronomy, etc. Ayurveda is renowned for its work in the areas of disease detection, drug development, designing, micro- and nanomedicine, target-oriented medications, etc. Ayurveda includes several Jewels of Vedic sciences, such Agastya for electricity, Bharadwaja for aerodynamics, Manu for sociology, and Panini for the linguistic function of technology in Ayurveda. Regarding instruction, preparation, and patient care, Ayurveda has a distinctive hierarchy.

Simple mouth-to-mouth communication serves as the primary method of information dissemination. The current medical sciences of today work hard and have their own standardized established technique. They use the International Classification of Diseases as a resource to help them develop specialized scientific tools and methodologies that provide uniformity everywhere. Using technologies like the Systematized Nomenclature of Medical Clinical Terms, Electronic Health Records (EHRs), electronic medical records, health informatics, bioinformatics, software, etc. They can achieve uniformity in terms of data collection, storage, analysis, maintenance, privacy, and security with simple interoperability.
