A web server is a server software. or hardware dedicated to running this software, that can satisfy client request on the World Wide Web. A web server can ,in general contain one or more website.

The main job of the web server is to display mobile content. It is a type of computer that runs web pages. It is considered a type of computer program. . The main goal of the webserver is to store, process, and deliver web pages to the users. This process is done using the Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP). These web pages are mostly static content that includes HTML documents, images, style sheets, tests, etc. instead of  HTTP, a web server also supports SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) and FTP (File Transfer Protocol) protocol for email and file transfer and for storage.
