Growing Demand of Smart Speakers, Smart Display Despite Component Shortage in Q3 2021: Report
Amazon has regained its top-ranking post in the shipment of the smart speakers, smart displays in the globe and followed by Google, Baidu, Alibaba, and Apple.
A report by a market research firm gives the information about the fact that the companies which are giving Smart gadgets like speakers and displays are making a huge profit and even the component of the production are facing a huge shortage.
It also revealed that the year-on-year growth of shipments of the related items had increased by 10% in Q3 2021 or a third calendar quarter. And told that a total of 39.3 million units were shipped during that period.
The same growth has been seen in the other companies as Google and thanks to Google next Hubs shipments and the company holds the second spot in the ranking and followed by the companies by Baidu, Alibaba, Apple, and Xiaomi.

The latest researched information from Strategic Analytics reveals the fact that the component shortage had affected the shipment of the smart speakers and smart displays and also had an impact on the supply chain of gadgets. And the Chinese vendors have faced the largest component shortage.

Despite all these shortages and faced obstacles the shipment of Smart Speakers and Smart displays is recorded to be increased in a quarterly manner and registered growth on year on year basis.
The growth has been recorded in Q3 2021 is looks the same as we compare this info to Q2 2021. The sales of units in Q2 was 39 million whereas in Q3 it was 39.9 million.
David Watkins, the Director and the Intelligent Home at Strategy Analytics, made a statement as “China alone typically accounts for 30% to 40% of the global market each quarter, so challenges experienced by Alibaba, Baidu, and Xiaomi will be indicators for how well- or not-China is managing its supply chain issue”.
The research in the Analytic report reveals the knowledge that about 7 percent of the sales have been registered in Smart speakers and smart displays on its YoY basis and Amazon, as per the previous ranking, again it gained the top rank in the leaderboard of the smart speakers and smart displays shipment. Whereas the others are followed by Apple, Xiaomi, Baidu, Google, and Alibaba respectively. Apple has recorded the maximum growth of about 92% on a YoY basis. It followed the other like Google with 18%, and Baidu with 15%, and Amazon remained the same in the virtual growth as compared to last Q3 2020.
If we talk about the smart displays, the growth of shipment is increased by 19%, and sales of 11.2 million units in Q3 2021. And the report told that Google’s Nest Hub was the best in the selling of the smart displays in Q3 2021. The total unit sales were 1.5 million and it is followed by Amazon’s Echo Show 5 and Baidu’s Xiaodu Zaija 1c.
The overview aspect was the Google’s Nest Mini smart speaker was in the top position in terms of selling devices and about 5 million devices are being sold.
