WHY IN NEWS
Google has launched Chrome OS 97 as the most recent stable upgrade for Chromebook users. The new version includes a revamped Gallery app as well as enhanced accessibility. Chrome OS 97 arrives a week after Chrome 97 for desktops, Android, and iOS was released. Simplified storage management and a revised autofill dropdown are among the new features in the latest Chrome browser release. On desktops, the new Chrome browser increased support for multilingual keyboards and included the ability to customise zoom settings for your most frequented websites.

The new Gallery app, which now allows users to natively play their favourite tunes and music, is one of the most significant enhancements that Chrome OS 97 brings to Chromebooks. Previously, Chrome OS had to use a specific client to play audio content. The revised Gallery app now displays the music tracks playing on the Chrome OS device in fullscreen mode. On the left, there's a 'Now Playing' queue that you may totally hide. Shortcuts for shifting the track 10-second backward or ahead, as well as modifying the pace, are available in the Gallery app's audio player. Additionally, compared to the specialised client, the player displays album art at a bigger size. Using the Gallery app, you may also open numerous photographs at once. You may also use the app to zoom and modify each image on the screen individually.

The fullscreen magnifier in Chrome OS 97 now has the option to move the screen around constantly using your mouse. The new feature joins the current default option, which allows the window to relocate when your cursor reaches the screen's edge. Google revealed earlier this week that Chrome OS will receive a flurry of improvements later this year. These features include fast pairing and easy setup with an Android phone.
You can check for Chrome OS 97 on your Chromebook by going to Settings > About Chrome OS > Check for updates
