According to reports, WhatsApp is working on a feature that would allow users to contact and get help within a WhatsApp chat. In March 2021, the encrypted texting service offered a similar functionality to certain beta testers on iOS and Android cellphones, but it was later terminated. WhatsApp beta invites on both devices are now able to contact the service via in-app chat once more, indicating that the capability may be expanded to more users in the future. On the current iOS beta version, WhatsApp is also introducing innovative motions for heart emoticons.

WhatsApp feature tracker WABetaInfo discovered the capability to give in-app help for users in WhatsApp versions 2.22.3.5 for Android and 22.2.72 for iOS. When beta testers contact the Meta-owned service via Settings > Help > Contact us, a notice appears on both platforms that says, 'We will react to you via a WhatsApp chat.' WhatsApp communicates with users via in-app messaging through its verified account, which has a green tick mark to indicate that the message is genuine. When you contact WhatsApp, it will offer you technical and diagnostic information, such as the model number and settings of the device on which WhatsApp is installed. The data is utilised to assist identify a problem, and users may choose whether or not to share their personal information with the messaging service. This includes your network connection details (4G LTE, 5G, or Wi-Fi), WhatsApp version, and model number, according to the feature tracker.

Meanwhile, as WABetaInfo reported a month ago, WhatsApp has began testing new animations for heart emoticons on the messaging service. Previously, a single red heart emoji would appear in animated form for both sender and receiver, but WhatsApp for iOS beta version 22.2.72 is now testing the ability to animate other heart emoji. There's no news on when the functionality will be available to Android beta testers, or when the animated heart emoji will be available to all WhatsApp users on the stable channel.

WhatsApp is also said to be working on new iOS notification settings that would allow users to customise notification sounds and select which alerts they want to receive. In a future edition of the app, WhatsApp will also provide users specifics about message reactions. The instant messaging service is also trying to improve its picture and video sketching tools, including the addition of new pencil tools. A blur image tool is also being developed by the service, which might be provided at a later date.
