Apple, Google needs better compliance plans on App store, says South Korean Law Regulatory
Google, Apple was asked by the South Korean Law Regulatory to offer improved compliance plans on App Store.
The Telecommunication Business Act was passed in 2021 by South Korea as an amendment to the previous law.
The new law will govern the ruling over the telecommunication and networking field as came into force on 15 March.

South Korea Telecommunication Authority has asked the better compliance plans from the companies Apple and Google before drafting the final rules for a law that will ban app stores operators from forcing Software developers to use their payments system, the above information was stated by the officials on Thursday.
The Korean government has passed the law which is an amendment to the Telecommunication business Act in 2021. The rules that were laid down in the ordinance will be so-called the enforcement ordinance and it will lay out what constitutes compliance with the law.
Korean Communications Commission has revealed the fact that the government has still not finalised the ordinance and it believes that the compliance plan submitted by apple does not have the concrete details, the commission asked, said by the official.
The Korean officials have been close to the Apple representatives for a more detailed compliance plan that reaches beyond the common intention of permitting the alternative payment system. Officially told.
The official said “As a result of any policy, if app developers find it difficult to use an alternative payment system and resort to using the dominant app store operator’s payment system, it would not fit the law’s purpose, South Korean Telecommunication Authority said.
KCC also told that it is aware of the policy of Google as it planned earlier which involves the declination of the service charges by 4 percent when users chose the alternative payment system, and the regulatory body is waiting for additional information.
