WhatsApp is apparently working on introducing a few additional features to both the normal and commercial versions of the app. For the former, a future upgrade to the Meta-owned instantaneous messenger app will allow users to build Communities. Group admins will have more control over the new Communities function, and they will be able to join groups together. Users will be able to choose a cover photo for their profile in a future WhatsApp Business update, although the capability may not be available for normal WhatsApp accounts. According to WABetaInfo, a WhatsApp features tracker, the Meta-owned instant messenger platform is focusing on allowing group managers to build Community on WhatsApp.

WhatsApp Groups is touted to make things simpler for group managers to administer many groups by bringing them all together in one location for quicker access. Admins will now be able to contact all group members at once using the Communities function. According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp Business will gain a new feature that will allow users to upload a cover photo to their profile, similar to Facebook, Twitter, or LinkedIn. According to the article, users will notice a Camera icon on the right side of their WhatsApp Business account, which will allow them to submit a cover photo. All visitors to WhatsApp accounts will be able to see the cover photo.
