WHY IN NEWS 

Instagram has unveiled a new method to interact with Stories. The picture and streaming video network has launched a new feature called Private Story Likes, which allows users to like other people's Instagram Stories without having to send them a direct message (DM). Previously, people could only re-share stories or respond to them by leaving a comment. Users' DM inboxes were also populated with comments provided on an Instagram Story. Users may now signal their likes for Stories without clogging their DM inbox with the latest update.

In a video posted to Twitter on Tuesday, Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri announced the launch of Private Story Likes. You may now interact with a Narrative by clicking the icon, just as you would with a standard feed article, thanks to the newest update. The like button, which is located between the Submit Messages choice and the papers aircraft symbol, doesn't really send the user a DM notice. Unlike ordinary Photos on Insta, Private Stories Appreciates will not display a tally. Mosseri said that they will appear on the viewer sheet rather than in your DM thread with them. Instagram's latest Personal Stories Likes functionality was released as part of the company's efforts to improve its platform's communication experiences.

Mosseri indicated in December of that year that Instagram will focus on communication and increase work on controls to promote transparency, as well as announcing the company's broad aims for 2022. Instagram released a suite of new capabilities earlier in the month to make it easier for users to delete posts, comments, and other actions from the network. Users may bulk remove or delete all of their material, including posts, Stories, IGTV, and Reels, as well as their interactions, such as comments, likes, and story sticker reactions. In the Your Activity area of Instagram, users may also filter their material and interactions by date and search for prior comments, likes, and story responses from a certain period range.
