The US State Attorney has launched an open nationwide inquiry into TikTok and its bad impact on TikTok users of different ages in terms of Mental Health, physical health, biological health. Authority is now widening the scrutiny of the social media platform.
Many countries have announced the investigation into the world’s most used social media platform TikTok which is used for making shorts of funny, music, action, and cooking category. The states which have launched the inquiry on Wednesday are California as a leading country including Florida, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Nebraska, New Jersey, Tennessee, and Vermont.
Law regulators including many ministers, TikTok is facing huge criticism as it started to be investigated by the US regulators. They say the platform is violating the rules of law regulators and also harming the mental and physical health of the people and mainly the young and children of the nation. Currently, the platform has about 1 billion monthly users and is mainly famous among young people.
The Attorney of the state of California Rob Bonta said “Our children are growing up in the age of social media – and many feel like they need to measure up to the filtered versions of reality that they see on their screens,” stated by Rob Bonta and more added “we know this takes a devastating toll on children’s mental health and wellbeing,”
