Lumen Internet Providing Company Stop Giving Internet to Russia
Lumen stopped providing internet services to Russia due to increased security risks.
The company ‘Lumen’ is also called the backbone of the internet. It stopped its Internet Services in Russia in the wake of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Lumen technology is one of the major internet providing companies in the world and it has announced the stop in the services were given to Russia amid Russia’s Invasion of Ukraine. The company has said on Tuesday that it is shutting its services to Russia due to increased Security Risks.
Last week, the US-based company Cogent also said that it is also cutting its internet providing services in Russia and Russian Clients. Lumen said about the business with Russia, it provides ‘extremely small and very limited business services in Russia.”
The company said in a statement about its decision “We decided to disconnect the network due to increased security risk inside Russia,” elaborated its decision for blocking its services Russia.
Cogent and Lumen are the major production of the Internet Providers globally and both allow data to flow through the guts of the internet.
The company said further “We have not yet experienced network disruptions but given the increasing environment and heightened risk of state action, we took this move to ensure the security of our and our customers’ networks, as well as the ongoing integrity of the global internet.”
