As per the intelligence information, US President Joe Biden announced the indication of cyber-attacks by the Russian authority. He told that Russia was “exploring” attacks over the cyber security of the US but the US would use every possible tool and preventive option to defeat such attacks.
Biden suggested the attacks might be a part of a retaliation act by Russia for sanctions imposed on it after Russia’s Invasion of Ukraine. Russia’s stance for retaliation can be confirmed after looking at the comment of the Foreign Minister of Russia who said bilateral ties between Moscow and the US were on the “Verge of rupture.”
US President said on Monday in a statement that intelligence had been “evolving” and that the US believes the “Russian Government is exploring options,” he urged the US companies to lock their digital doors.
He stated “You have the power, the capacity, and the responsibility to strengthen the cybersecurity and resilience of the critical services and technologies on which Americans rely. We need everyone to do their part.”
Such cyber-attacks by Russia have been grown since the tension between Russia and Ukraine increased and resulted in War. These cyber-attacks are not only bound to some countries but had their effect all over the world but objected to the US and NATO countries.
In the worst-case scenario, a big attack on the US or another NATO member could trigger article 5 which is the collective defense clause. Before this statement was made by President Joe Biden on Monday, an initiative named “shields up” started a month ago to make the US Companies and government vigilant against such cyber-attacks in the future.
