Worst Cyber Attack on Okta Has Severe Impacts on Hundreds of Companies
Hundreds of companies that relied on Okta to provide access to their network have been hit severely by the worst cyber-attack on the company. Company Okta has released a list of companies that have been impacted by the attack. The hackers have also been identified and told as Cyber-Gang lapsus$.

Okta has been hit severely by some ransomware groups after which hundreds of its clients faced the effect of Okta Hack over their work and information. Okta has revealed the number of clients it has 15000 and out of which, only 366 have been hit in the cyber attack.
After the attack news comes out, the shares of Okta has been fell by 9% and the Okta said about the companies affected by the hack their “data may have been viewed or acted upon” by the hackers.
Okta told that it has both, giant companies like FedEx, and smaller ones like Thanet District Council, in Kent. The hack is said to be done by Cyber- Gang Lapsus$. The Cyber Security Check Point Akbar Ahmed said about the ransomware group “is a South American threat actor that has recently been linked to Cyber Attacks on some high profile target.”
He also added “The cyber- gang is known for extortion, threatening, and release of sensitive information if demands by its victims are not made,” said Ahmed.
The cyber-attack in recent days become more common and the same group has been reported to attack Microsoft and other high-profile companies.
Microsoftsaid in a blog post about the attack that Lapsus$ had received only limited data after compromising a single account, but customer code or any data was not involved in it.
