As per the official information, the Twitter handle of the Uttar Pradesh government was hacked for almost 10 minutes on Monday. After some time both the accounts of Uttar Pradesh’s official government and the state Information Department Twitter Handle were restored by the technology department.

The Famous Twitter handle of the UP government was hacked for more than 10 minutes under the name of (@UPGovt) which has around 2.7 million followers, told to senior officials.

A Twitter handle of the government operated by the Information Department @InfoUPFactCheck was also hacked. The account was followed by 24,000 followers. In the early hours of Saturday, the official Twitter account of the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh was hacked for a short period.

Under the Cyber Crime, A case was registered to the police station of Lucknow. A senior official officer told about the hack “The account was hacked for around 29 minutes at night. The hackers posted around 400-500 tweets and the account was suspended on grounds of unnatural activities,”

 Twitter handle @CMOfficeUP has over 40 Lakh followers.

Last week, the official Tweeter Handle of the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh was hacked and after accessing every piece of information they changed the profile picture from a cartoon and posted hundreds of tweets that were recovered. The account has 40 lakhs followers. And the Uttar Pradesh Government said in a tweet that strict action will be taken against the perpetrators and a detailed inquiry will be done.
