Google to Delete Location Data after the User Visits Abortion Clinics
Google has announced that the latest update which would automatically delete the users visits to abortion clinics, domestic violence shelters, weight loss clinics, and other potentially sensitive locations from users' location data.

The tech giant, Google has mentioned that if their systems identify that someone has given a visit to any one of such places then they would delete those entries from the Location and the History of the person’s id soon after their visit. It has assured its users that this new change will come into effect very soon in the coming weeks.
On Friday, the announcement from Google came in the wake of Supreme Court's decision last week to overturn Roe v. Wade case, by eliminating the constitutional right to an abortion after almost 50 long years. After this, some of the states have immediately outlawed abortions in the US. Although, it is true that search and location data from companies like Google can more likely be used as evidence.
Following the Supreme Court's overturning of Roe v. Wade case, different social media users had started to share posts which would offer to mail abortion pills to people who need but their access to abortion had got stripped away.
Well, after the Supreme Court’s decision Facebook and Instagram have been immediately removing posts from the user’s profile who would offer abortion pills via mail posts.
It can be expected that the users can also turn off their Google's location data altogether whenever they want, only when they have the latest version of the tech giant.
Meanwhile, Google has mentioned it would provide its users settings and tools to easily access and control their personal data for Google Fit and Fitbit. It also includes the option that is given to users to change and delete personal information at any time.
According to the company, in case of the Fitbit users who all have chosen to track their menstrual cycles in the app can currently delete the menstruation logs one at a time by themselves. Well, they are working on the updates which will roll out and would let the users to delete multiple logs in one go, itself.
