Netflix releases spatial audio support for its web series and movies
Netflix has completely prepared itself to roll out spatial audio support for Netflix original web series and shows. One of the latest web series, Stranger Things among other series is going to be the first to induce spatial audio support. The users are going to be able to hunt for content that supports spatial audio just by typing “spatial audio” within the search bar. The new feature is going to be unrolled to the users from today itself. Netflix has not specified whether or not the roll out is restricted to the audience in the US or not.

Netflix have been supporting 4K, HDR, Dolby Atmos, and Netflix Calibrated Mode, that provides an excellent viewing experience. With spatial audio support, Netflix aims to give a cinematic experience at homes for users.
As per Netflix in a blog, “Netflix spatial audio helps to translate the cinematic experience of immersive audio to any stereo, therefore the work creators do bring you into the story that happens no matter what device you employ to watch Netflix. Spatial audio can roll out across our catalog starting from today, and you'll be able to hear it for yourself by typing “spatial audio” into the search bar and then choosing a show or film that supports it within the search results.”
Netflix has partnered with Sennheiser, a German audio maker to give spatial support to users. The streaming uses Sennheiser AMBEO technology to reinforce stereo audio with an immersive surround sound experience which is therefore, compatible with all devices, all streaming plans, and doesn't need surround sound speakers or home theatre equipments.
People usually do not need the surround sound speakers to experience spatial audio, the feature are going to be enabled automatically once they are watching a compatible TV show or movie using stereo audio. However, if people are having surround sound speakers watching TV shows and movies in 5.1 surround sound or Dolby Atmos, then they are suggested so as to experience spatial audio. Therefore, Netflix supports Apple's spatial audio on Apple TV, iPhone, and iPad devices in order to enhance 5.1 surround sound and Dolby Atmos audio with an immersive surround sound experience.
