As per the reports, the changes would not have an effect on every team, there would be certain teams that would not be able to see an increase in the staffs next year and a few positions would not be backfilled. It can be noticed that Apple is still prepping to launch its long-rumored mixed reality headset by 2023.
Many tech companies have adjusted in their hiring in these recent weeks. Sundar Pichai, Google’s CEO has informed his employees about the hiring slowdown. Meta’s chief product officer warned the staffs about the “serious times” and has issued a freeze for various roles. Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi has vowed to be “hardcore regarding costs” within a memo. According to some reports, Apple had slowed down the Genius hiring at certain retail stores of its own.
Many companies got affected by the layoffs in many ways. Today itself, Vimeo CEO Anjali Sud has suddenly declared that the company would be peeling off 6 percent of its employees even though they had already slowed themselves down in the hiring process. Tesla, Substack, Netflix, and Twitter too are on their way to conduct layoffs recently in order to create a balance with the current scenario.
