Meta is suing Facebook’s Parent Company META
Meta is a small business since 2010 which operates within the immersive and experiential technology industry has filed a lawsuit against Facebook for trademark violation and had alleged that the change of Mark Zuckerberg's name had violated its established brand.

The company has mentioned that for 12 years, it has been powering the kinds of experiences and product that Facebook is currently building and has been serving to the same creator and customers that Facebook is currently targeting. META's lawsuit has alleged that Facebook unlawfully taken over its mark and name. Such kind of behavior is willfully violating its trademark rights and fascinating in egregious acts of unfair competition.
As per the company, 'On October 28, 2021, Facebook has eventually taken over our META mark and name for which we had given our blood, sweat, and tears for its building from over twelve years.' The company even added that 'Today, after eight months of trying to negotiate with Facebook in a good faith to no avail, we have been left with no alternative choice but to at last file a lawsuit against them.'
The original Meta has mentioned that 'This case is all about ensuring the protection of rights to our work, innovation and intellectual property, which we have been devoting our lives to build this as we get evolved towards a more equitable digital and social future.”
According to META's Founder & CEO Justin Bolognino, “META has spent over 12 years to support, develop, and protect the creator community, creators' rights, and ironically, creators' intellectual property.” He alleged that “Facebook's actions, were illegally usurping our name and mark, it has not only placed our business in jeopardy, however the complete industry and also the intellectual property rights of the innovators that have helped to build it.”
Well, it could be noticed that Meta (Facebook) was yet to react to the lawsuit.
However, the complaint alleged that Facebook is currently doing the same thing that Meta has done for over a decade. It was conducting the exact immersive experiences, during the similar events and venues, and was dealing with same creators and companies.
