US Investigation claims Huawei to be spying over Military Bases
China’s Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. has been actively in the limelight of investigation by the U.S. Department of Commerce, who fears that the company would be using equipment installed on cell towers to spy on nearby military bases and missile silos.

Authorities are basically concerned that Huawei might be obtaining sensitive data on military drills and the readiness status of bases and personnel through the equipment, according to an individual, requesting anonymity as the investigation would be confidential and it would involve national security.
According to the sources, the previous unreported probe was opened by the Commerce Department after Joe Biden took office early last year. Well, by following the implementation of rules to flesh out a May 2019 executive had ordered which provided the agency the investigative authority.
The Commerce Department has mentioned that it would not 'confirm or deny the ongoing investigations.' It has added to it that, 'protecting US persons' safety and security against malign data collection is important to be protective for our economy and national security.'
Huawei has not responded to a request for comment. Well, the company has been seen to strongly deny the US government allegations that it might be spying on the US customers and poses a national security threat.
The Chinese embassy in Washington has not responded to the specific allegations. In an emailed statement, it has mentioned that 'The U.S. government abuses the concept of national security and state power to move all out in order to suppress Huawei and different other Chinese telecommunications companies without even providing any solid proof that they represent a security threat to the US and the other countries.'
Eight current and former U.S. government officials have mentioned that the probe reflects lingering national security concerns about the company which has already faced with a slew of the US restrictions in recent years.
If the Commerce Department determines that Huawei poses a national security threat, it might move beyond the existing restrictions, which has been imposed by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), the US telecoms regulator.
