New Editing and Productivity Tools to Get Featured on Chromebooks by August
ChromeOS would be getting a bunch of new video editing tools and productivity features as soon as by the next month. Google would be releasing a brand new movie editor with some new editing features within Google Photos apps, and it had claimed that one could ease the method of making videos “with the help of just few taps.” Well, apart from these tools there would be new features in Google Photos wallpapers, Light and Dark Themes, new PDF editing features, deeper Calendar Integration, and new capabilities in Virtual Desks. The features would be rolling out on Chromebooks from the first week of August.

The first major set of features would come to Google Photos in the form of a brand new movie editor and video editing features. According to Google, the movie creation tool has been revamped permitting the users to quickly produce “high-quality movies” by the use of themes, applying AI effects like Real Tone filters, adding music and title cards, among different options. The users would be able to open a video within the Gallery app and could continue editing it in Google Photos with just a tap with the help of deeper integration into the OS.
Well, Google has mentioned that the new options of Google Photos would automatically create a movie. The user just has to select a theme, photos along with videos of individuals (or pets), and Google Photos would then compile them to make a movie, just as in Android. These features would be first available on Chromebook which would start from August.
Apart from the new movie and video-related features, Google Photos would soon get enhancements in wallpapers. Through this one could not only be able to set wallpapers from Google Photos albums but also they could automatically change it daily. Along with this, Google would be introducing Light and Dark themes on ChromeOS. Users would be able to select either of the themes or the “auto” option which would make an automatic transition from light to dark once day turns to night. As per Google, some wallpaper also supports this transition.
Well, there would be more features available which would include new PDF editing features to the Gallery app (Chromebook's default media app), deeper Calendar Integration to take a fast look at details without even opening another app or browser tab, and notification enhancements permitting cleaner user interface. All these news features would be rolled out to ChromeOS in August.
The Virtual Desks, a feature that permits users to keep all related apps and windows related with a specific project which would be grouped together, would allow them to save and shut an entire desk and then continue from wherever they had left with just a tap. This feature would roll out to ChromeOS during the last days of September.
