A Strange Crater like an Ear got spotted by NASA’s Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter
While NASA was not being able to become successful in finding signs of life on the Red Planet yet but it has disclosed an intriguing image which was captured by the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter spaceship. The onboard High-Resolution Imaging Science Experiment (HiRise) camera had noticed a cool crater formed like an ear.
HIGHLIGHTS
- HiRise camera had noticed a cool crater formed like an ear
- The crater has been expected to be simply over 1,800 meters across
- Scientists have been unable to determine the exact nature of the object
As per a press release, the HiRise crew had referred to the phenomena of pareidolia, which was responsible for humans imaginatively seeing things like faces in Martian rock formations.
The team in a picture-of-the-day feature for Friday had written 'Is it pareidolia, where we tend to see features like faces and patterns where they would not really exist, if the shape would resemble something? In such case, we would look at an odd-shaped impact crater that would look as a great deal like an ear.” The team added 'And once you would see it, it's nearly not possible to un-see. The crater would be simply over 1,800 meters across. This scene was found in Chryse Planitia in the Northern Hemisphere of Mars.'
The Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter has been orbiting and studying about the Red planet since 2006. Well, it has been designed to study the geology and climate of Mars, it offer reconnaissance of future landing sites, and relay information from surface missions back to Earth.
Meanwhile, this comes when NASA's Mars Perseverance Rover discovered a strange piece of an object that appeared like a tangle of string or chopped material that was clinging altogether. According to the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), the image was captured by the rover's front-facing hazard turning away cameras that keep an eye on the landscape to shield the Perseverance once it's driving or using its robotic arm. Well, the scientists have Perseverance once it's driving or using its robotic arm. Well, the scientists have been unable to determine the exact nature of the object.
