WhatsApp has been engaged on a feature which would permit users to set up “Avatar” profile photos. Earlier, it was reported that the Meta-owned instant messaging service has been working on a feature which would permit users to answer the video calls with the use of an animated avatar.

As per the reports, WhatsApp has been setting up an Avatar profile photo feature which would permit the users to set a customized avatar as a display image. A screenshot that has been obtained by the WhatsApp data portal portrays the way the users would be able to customize and choose for an avatar, opt for a background color and later set an avatar as a profile picture. Well, there has been no such data regarding the feature which was going to be released. Since, it was in the early stage of development, it would take quite a while before it was rolled out to the overall public.

Earlier this month, WhatsApp has announced a host of new privacy options to its service that was going to be rolled out to all the users. Some of the new features would include the ability to hide the Online status indicator, exit WhatsApp groups mutely without notifying any users, and block screenshots for certain messages.

After updating the app the users would be able to regulate the visibility of their Online status between either all users, solely contacts or no one. Similar to the way the visibility of different chat options like read receipts would be controlled. Along with this, the WhatsApp users would be able to exit any of the groups silently that they were part of without even notifying the users of the group. Well, the users need to note that the group admins would still be notified about their exit from the group.
