Over the Claim of Selling Overpriced PlayStation Games, Sony Sued Thousands of Crores
Sony Interactive Entertainment has been sued by 9 million claimants who would accuse the company of 'overpricing' PlayStation games. The users of the gaming console manufacturer were seemed to have accused Sony of 'ripping its people off' with games and in-game purchases over its online store. The collective action was basically the results of the efforts of rights champion Alex Neill. The legal proceedings would state that buyers have been getting overcharged by the maximum amount as 5 billion pounds within the last six years.

All the purchases were taken into account by the complainants about the UK games or add-on content - on their console or through PlayStation Store since August 19, 2016. Well, all these users would be potentially entitled to compensation.
The calculable damage per individual member of the class was between 67 pounds and 562 pounds by excluding the interest.
The claimants have been arguing that the gaming giant has been charged a 30 percent commission on each and every digital game or in-game purchase which was made through the PlayStation Store.
According Ms. Neil, 'the game was definitely up for Sony PlayStation. With this legal proceeding I have been standing up for the millions of UK individuals those were unknowingly overcharged. We have been believed that Sony has abused its position and had ripped off its customers.'
She then added that 'the actions of Sony was eventually costing around millions of individuals who would not be able to afford it, especially when we have been within the midst of a cost of living crisis and the consumer purse was definitely being squeezed like it has been never before.'
