Beta Users would Finally be Getting WhatsApp Communities Feature
Earlier this year, Mark Zuckerberg had declared WhatsApp’s Communities which have been permitting its users to create smaller groups within the groups. After waiting for months the feature has been finally rolling out to WhatsApp beta users, signaling that a stable launch would simply be around the corner.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Communities tab was discovered for users with WhatsApp version v2.22.193
- People would be able to produce a Community with up to 10 groups in it
- The invited users could decide which sub-group to join based on their interests
As per a report, the communities tab has been discovering for certain users who have updated to WhatsApp beta version v2.22.193 on Android. Well, the feature would not appear for all beta users on the newest version instantly, and a few might have to force to shut the app and restart it first.
For people who do get access to the feature, a brand new communities tab would be visible on the main WhatsApp screen, which would replace the camera tab on the left. People who would be able to look at the new Communities tab they would be able to produce a Community with up to 10 groups in it and support for up to 512 participants.
For the group admin, a Community would basically be a bigger umbrella group which was placed above the smaller sub-groups. Therefore, admins would be ready to send messages to specific sub-groups or the entire Community through an announcement group which would automatically be produced once they create a Community.
Whereas on the other hand, the users who were invited into a Community would decide which sub-group to join based on their interests. Communities also permit members of a sub-group to go away without leaving the Community itself.
WhatsApp has been working on hiding the number of members in sub-groups from different participants for privacy reasons, however this has not been implemented yet.
If a stable version of WhatsApp was used like most users, expect to wait a bit longer before they would get a taste of Communities, because the feature would solely get a stable release after any bugs were discovered and eliminated.
