Audi is all set to Formula 1 in 2026, says Audi's chairman Markus duesman
The renowned car-making company Audi reveals the fact that it will join Formula 1 as a hybrid engine supplier in 2026.
A German-based car company Audi, after a long rumor, speculation, and innuendo announced that it will join Formula 1 from the 2026 season with its newly made competitive hybrid engine at its facility in Neuburg. The Giant car-making company told that some technical changes were made by the sport’s governing body known as ‘FIA’. The change in the engine was because of the cost overruns and to improve sustainability prompted it to sign up. It has a positive hope that Audi will push the sport to its ambitious goal of being climate neutral by 2030.
In a short communication, the FIA requires a V6 engine that is designed to run on the best sustainable fuel blend. Also with that, there will be a 400 KW electric motor which will have the ability to produce an output of 544 horsepower equal to almost as powerful as the V6 itself. FIA’s Safety Director will himself lead the project for the Audi with previous experience in the car companies like Cosworth and BMW.
Audi makes an announcement at a press conference at Spa during the weekend’s Belgian Grand Prix. During the conference both the head, Chairman of the board of management of Audi AG Markus Duesmann, Member of the Board of Management for Technical Development Oliver Hoffmann, Domenicali and FIA PresidentMohammed Ben Sulayem.
