Apple seems to be getting closer to launching its classical music streaming app.
Today, Apple revealed that it had acquired Primephonic, a renowned streaming service for classical music. Primephonic provides a remarkable listening experience with search and browse functionality tailored for classical music, premium audio, hand-picked professional recommendations, and extensive contextual information on repertoire and recordings.
Primephonic will greatly enhance the classical music listening experience for Apple Music users, starting with Primephonic playlists and exclusive audio material. Fans of Apple Music Classical will have a specialised experience with the greatest Primephonic features in the upcoming months, including enhanced browsing and search options by composer and by repertoire, in-depth displays of classical music metadata, as well as additional features and advantages.

Beginning on September 7, Primephonic will no longer accept new subscribers and be taken offline. Next year, Apple Music intends to release a special classical music app that combines more capabilities with the beloved Primephonic user interface.
In the interim, current Primephonic customers will receive six months of Apple Music for free, giving them access to thousands of classical music in Lossless and high-resolution audio as well as hundreds of albums in Apple Music's Spatial Audio, with new albums being added often.
