Bharti Airtel's 5G service launches in 8 cities, with customers continuing to pay for 4G service.
On Thursday, Bharti Airtel announced that its 5G services were now operational in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Siliguri, Nagpur, and Varanasi, as well as eight other cities.
According to the statement, the consumer using 5G services will be charged according to their current 4G plan.

On October 1, Sunil Mittal, the founder and chairman of Bharti Enterprises, announced the rollout of 5G service in 8 cities.
According to a corporate spokeswoman, customers can use the services in accordance with their 4G plans. If there are 5G signals in their location, Airtel customers can switch to 5G; but, if they find that 5G is using a lot of data, they can go back to 4G.
According to the spokeswoman, 5G access is optional. The Airtel 5G Plus service is currently compatible with 5G devices from Apple, Samsung, Xiaomi, Vivo, Oppo, Realme, and OnePlus.
Samsung's flagship models, such as the Fold series, Galaxy S 22 series, Samsung M32, iPhone 12 series, and later models, Realme 8s 5G, Realme X7 series, Realme narzo series, Vivo X50 onward smartphones, Vivo IQOO series, Oppo Reno5G Pro, and other devices in the same series launched later, as well as OnePlus 8 and beyond smartphones, are among the compatible models.
During the first phase of the 5G network, mobile subscribers will receive speeds of up to 600 megabits per second, and devices are anticipated to perform on par with business PCs in terms of app access and data processing. Reliance Jio, a rival to Bharti Airtel, is offering restricted consumers with a 5G smartphone unlimited 5G bandwidth during the beta phase.
