Apple Confirmed December Timeline to Roll Out 5G Software Updates in India
In India, Apple would soon be upgrading its iPhone models in December in order to create them compatible with 5G networks, as mentioned by the company on Wednesday, as the Indian authorities had pressed mobile phone manufacturers to adopt the high-speed network.

The company had mentioned that it would push software upgrades to recent models, which would involve the iPhone 14, iPhone 13, iPhone 12 and iPhone SE, which according to the sources they do not support the network presently.
Apple has mentioned in a statement that 'We were operating with our carrier partners in India to introduce the best 5G experience to iPhone users as soon as network validation and testing for quality and performance gets completed.'
'5G would get enabled through a software update and would begin rolling out to iPhone users in December.'
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi had launched the 5G services on October 1 amid a lot of fanfare, along with the leading telecom operator Reliance Jio mentioning that it would build the service accessible in four cities and rival Bharti Airtel in eight.
Top bureaucrats from India's telecoms and IT departments would chair a gathering on Wednesday for early 5G adoption, by asking the executives from Apple, Samsung, Vivo and Xiaomi, along with domestic telecom operators Reliance, Airtel and Vodafone Idea to be ideally present.
On Tuesday, PTI had reported that secretaries of both the DoT and Ministry of Electronics and IT would chair the meeting to have a discussion on teething the 5G problems. The authorities would even discuss the intervention of handset manufacturers and telecom operators to release software updates for all 5G handsets and prioritize the software upgrade for the adoption of 5G in India.
