Adani Data Networks receives a unified licence to operate fully.
According to two government sources, the Gautam Adani-led Adani Data Network has been given a unified licence for access services, allowing it to offer all telecom services throughout the nation, the PTI reported on Wednesday.
Following the recent 5G spectrum auction, when the conglomerate purchased spectrum, it entered the telecom industry. UL (AS), according to the PTI report, was awarded to Adani Data Networks, according to one official source, on Monday, according to another official source. However, the news organisation received no answer when it sent an email inquiry to the Adani Group.
Adani Data Networks Ltd (ADNL), a division of Adani Enterprises Ltd, won the latest 5G spectrum auction and paid Rs 212 crore for the 20-year licence to use 400MHz of spectrum in the 26GHz millimetre wave band.
According to statements made by Adani Group, the company intends to use the airwaves for both its data centres and the super app it is developing to help industries ranging from gas retail to ports and energy distribution to airports.
The recently acquired 5G spectrum 'is intended to help develop a unified digital platform that would expedite the pace and scope of the Adani group's digitalization of its core infrastructure, primary industrial, and B2C business portfolio,' according to a statement from the firm.
According to records seen by CRE Matrix, Adani Enterprises has leased 4.64 lakh square feet of space at its data centre in Noida to Raiden Infotech, a Google subsidiary, for Rs 11 crore per month.
D C Development Noida Ltd, a division of Adani Enterprises Ltd, reportedly leased 4,64,460 square feet of space at the Adani data centre in Sector-62, Noida, for a duration of ten years, according to records obtained by the data analytics firm, according to a report by PTI.
It costs Rs. 235 per square foot per month to rent. The initial yearly fee would be Rs 130.89 crore, and there will be a 1% rise in the rent each year.
Adani Enterprises received a 34,275 square metre plot of land in Sector 62 from Noida Authority in July 2021 in exchange for making an estimated Rs 2,400 crore investment in building the data centre.
