Zomato finally Crosses Billion Dollar Annualised Revenue Mark

Online food delivery service Zomato announced on Thursday that its consolidated net loss for the second quarter ended in September 2022 was reduced to Rs. 250.8 crore. The company's overall net loss for the prior fiscal year was Rs. 434.9 crore.
According to a regulatory filing, operating revenue increased to Rs. 1,661.3 crore during the quarter of July to September from Rs. 1,024.2 crore during the same period of the prior financial year. According to the business, this is the first quarter in which it has exceeded the milestone of $1 billion in annualised revenue.
However, its overall costs increased during the reviewed quarter, going from Rs. 1,601.5 crore to Rs. 2,091.3 crore. Deepinder Goyal, the CEO and founder of Zomato, stated, 'We are creating for the long run, and we will continue reviewing and taking risks which may compromise short term goals for the long term.' Goyal shared his thoughts on how Zomato could 'execute better,' saying that there are several areas where the company could do better.
According to Goyal, who spoke about the company's acquisition of Blinkit, 'there were a number of people who didn't like the transition and decided to leave, but we are past all the pain, and now have a stable team at Blinkit that is executing very well to produce results that would surprise the best of us.'
The transaction with Blinkit closed on August 10, according to Zomato CEO Akshant Goyal, and as a result, the company's financials have been consolidated since that time. 'Our Adjusted Revenue' increased by 16 percent from quarter to quarter and by 48 percent from year to year in Q2FY23, he continued.
