According to a WhatsApp spokesperson, the company banned over 23 lakh accounts in October. WhatsApp is an instant messaging and voice over IP service. According to a different statement, up to 811,000 of these 23 lakh accounts were proactively removed before any user complaints.

In a statement, a WhatsApp representative said: 'When it comes to end-to-end encrypted messaging services, WhatsApp is the industry leader in preventing abuse. In order to keep our users safe on our platform, we have consistently made investments in Artificial Intelligence and other cutting-edge technology, data scientists and experts, and processes.'

The representative stated, 'We have made our report for the month of October 2022 public in compliance with the IT Rules 2021. This user safety report includes information on user complaints received and WhatsApp's response to them, as well as WhatsApp's own proactive measures to stop abuse on our platform.' According to the spokesman, WhatsApp banned approximately 23 lakh million accounts in October, as shown in the most recent monthly report.

 26,85,000 WhatsApp accounts were banned from the instant messaging service between September 1 and September 30 of this year, according to a statement issued by the company. Before any user complaints, up to 872,000 of these accounts were proactively banned.

According to the company's statement, WhatsApp used tools and resources to stop harmful behaviour on the platform in addition to reacting to and acting upon user concerns through the grievance channel. We are especially focused on prevention because we think it is much preferable to prevent bad behaviour from occurring in the first place than to discover it after harm has already been done.
In response to negative criticism, which we receive in the form of user reports and blocks, it was stated that the abuse detection operates at three phases of an account's lifestyle: during registration, while messaging, and when a block or report is issued. A staff of analysts is added to these systems, according to WhatsApp's statement, to assess edge cases and assist us gradually increase our efficacy.
