Twitter gives users the chance to appeal a suspended account
Twitter users who have had their accounts temporarily suspended will be able to appeal the decision beginning on February 1 and have their accounts re-adjudged according to the site's revised criteria for reinstatement, according to a statement that Twitter released on Friday. The statement explained that users who have had their accounts temporarily suspended will be able to appeal the decision beginning on February 1.
The criteria for suspending Twitter accounts were modified in October, shortly after the successful businessman Elon Musk purchased the company that operates Twitter.
Serious violations of the terms of service include actions such as posting content that violates the law or engaging in criminal behaviour, inciting or threatening violence or harm, or engaging in offensive behaviour toward other users.
Twitter has pledged to use 'less punitive steps' in the future rather than suspending user accounts. These 'less harsh measures' may include limiting the appearance of tweets that violate the site's policies or requiring users to remove messages before they can use their accounts again.
In December, Musk was criticised for banning the accounts of a large number of journalists due to a disagreement on the disclosure of publicly available data on the billionaire's jet. The dispute stemmed from a disagreement over whether or not the data should be made public. After some time, he restored online access to the accounts.
A few days ago, Elon Musk, the owner of Twitter, published a tweet in which he discussed a premium, ad-free subscription to the social networking service. The billionaire has stated that in the upcoming weeks, measures will be put into place to combat the advertising that is 'too frequent on Twitter and too enormous.
' It's important to keep in mind that digital advertising accounts for around 90 per cent of Twitter's revenue. Recently, Musk has placed responsibility on rights groups for Twitter's 'massive loss in revenue.' He claims that these groups have been lobbying firms to cease their ad campaigns on Twitter.
Additionally, the microblogging service said in January that the price of a Twitter Blue subscription for Android will be $11 per month (about Rs. 900). However, the company did offer customers that used the internet an annual subscription at a price that was far lower than the monthly charges.
It is likely that higher pricing for Android users will be used to pay the costs that are connected with utilising the Google Play Store, which is Android's version of the Apple App Store.
