Apple blocks update to email app with ChatGPT tech
Apple Inc has denied an upgrade to the email application BlueMail, which employs a customized form of OpenAI's GPT-3 language model, the app's co-founder told Reuters on March 03, 2023.
Ben Volach of Blix stated, "Apple has banned the BlueMail upgrade and continuing to discriminate and treat BlueMail unfairly." "Other GPT-powered applications appear to have no restrictions," he noted.
Apple, which denied the software upgrade last week, requested that the firm adjust the app's age classification for individual over 17 or install content filtering, as BlueMail may create content unsuitable for all consumers, based on a document obtained by Reuters.

"We desire justice. If we are needed to be at least 17 years old, this ought to apply to others "Volach noted that a lot of other applications in Apple's app store that tout ChatGPT-like functionality lack age limits.
Apple, which was investigating the issue, stated that developers may appeal a refusal through the App Review Board procedure.
Thomas Forte, an analyst at D.A. Davidson, said that the business may analyse apps using ChatGPT capabilities similarly to the way it evaluates other apps where there are questions about the level of the customer experience and the appropriateness of the material or service supplied by the app.
The IT world has been charmed by OpenAI's ChatGPT, which can make content in response to consumer requests. Microsoft and Google each debuted their own artificial intelligence chatbots in early February.
