The tech veteran worked in the foundation technology for AI systems, told in a press conference about the risk of such intelligence in this field “Look at how it was five years ago and how it is now,” he said in a piece which was published on Monday.
“Take the difference and propagate in forwards. That’s scary.”
There is fierce competition all over the tech world and that is pushing such companies to release new AI technologies at dangerous speeds, risks over jobs, and spreading wrong information to people.
“It is hard to see how you can prevent the bad actors from using it for bad things,’ he said at the conference.
Geoffrey does not speak freely about the dangers of AI with regrets of his contribution in the field. He was taken to google a decade ago to help in the development of the company’s Artificial Intelligence technology.
“I have come to the conclusion that the kind of intelligence we were developing is very different from the intelligence we have.”
“So it’s as if you had 10,000 people and whenever one person learned something, everybody automatically knew it. And that’s how these chatbots can know so much more than any one person.”
He told that the AI-generated content will not be distinguished anymore and will find it difficult for human beings. Such content is flooding the internet.
