AMD will likely to expose details on new AI 'Superchip' in challenge to Nvidia's Power
AMD to reveal further details on its new artificial intelligence-based ‘Superchip’ in order to challenge Nvidia’s increasing power.
Analysts are expecting some more fresh details about a chip called the MI300, which is AMD’s most advanced graphics processing unit (GPU).
Highlights
- Nvidia already has a few competitors working on a large scale
- The New Chip AMD will not change that right away
- Nvidia, last month touched a market capitalization of about $1 trillion
Rival companies in chip making sector are progressing day by day and Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) on Tuesday expected to disclose some more details about an AI “super chip” which is believed to be the strong challenger to Nvidia, whose manufactured chips are growing in the recent time and also has a large dominance in the field of artificial intelligence market.
An analyst Kevin Krewell, at TIRIAS Research, said the chip-making company AMD will have to catch up on both software and research trends.
“They have to connect with the research community to understand what the market is doing and what they need to do, well ahead of when something becomes important,” Krewell added.
Chip-making company AMD’s new coming chip will not change that right away. Su revealed to the investors during an earning call last month that the MI300 will start giving sales in the fourth quarter, but “will be more meaningful in 2024.”
Nvidia including other companies is facing huge competition in the chip-making field as Intel, Cerebras System, and SambaNova System have competing products, Nvidia’s biggest sales threat as far as it is the internal chip efforts at Alphabet’s Google and Amazon.com’s cloud unit, both the companies rent their custom chips to outside developers.
These chips are like a heart in technology like artificial intelligence and others which enhance the experience of the users with the latest updates and fast procedures.
