ISRO To Launch Chandrayaan-3 Between 13 & 19 July
The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has announced that the launch of Chandrayaan-3, India's third lunar mission, is scheduled to take place between July 13 and 19. The mission will be launched from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh.
Chandrayaan-3 is a follow-up to the Chandrayaan-1 and Chandrayaan-2 missions, which both successfully orbited and explored the moon. The mission's primary objective is to soft-land a lander and rover on the lunar surface. The lander will be named Vikram, after Dr. Vikram A. Sarabhai, the father of the Indian Space Programme. The rover will be named Pragyan, which means "wisdom" in Sanskrit.
The mission will also carry a number of scientific instruments, including a camera, a spectrometer, and a magnetometer. These instruments will be used to study the lunar surface, atmosphere, and gravity field.
The launch of Chandrayaan-3 is a major milestone for the Indian Space Programme. The mission will help India to further its understanding of the moon and its history. It will also help to pave the way for future lunar missions, such as a manned mission to the moon.
