Threads Web Version is Live.
Threads is a new platform that wants to be more popular than Twitter for famous people, companies, and governments. It didn't do very well when it first came out, but now it's trying to get better by being available on the internet.
A web version of Threads is really important because it will help get more grown-ups and people who work in jobs like writing and making videos to use it. These people use social media a lot and usually use their computers to post stuff while they are at work.
"Threads.net is now open to everyone. Tell us what you think," Instagram head Adam Mosseri, who also leads Threads, posted on Thursday.
Until now, Threads could only be used on phones like iPhones and Androids.
The Threads team is working really hard to make the web version of this experience just as good as the mobile version. They will be adding more cool stuff to the web version in the next few weeks.
Threads became the app that lots of people downloaded really quickly, even faster than ChatGPT, which was a really popular app before.
But after people first started using it and were really excited, they started using it less and less. They also wanted the app to be on the internet and to have some changes made to it.
Some famous people like Jennifer Lopez and Tom Brady were able to try out Threads before it was available to everyone else. But they haven't been posting on it very often.
X, which is owned by Elon Musk, used to be the most popular place for people to comment and share news. But ever since Elon Musk took over, there has been a lot of confusion and problems there. Because of this, many people are now looking for other places to go instead.
According to a company called Similarweb, the number of people using the Android version of an app called Threads decreased a lot. It went from a really high number of 49.3 million people using it every day to only 10.3 million people using it every day.
Last month, the CEO of Meta, Mark Zuckerberg, said that it would take some time for the Threads app to work well, but once it does, they will try to get more people to use it.
Threads is not available in Europe because the company that owns it, Meta, is not sure how to follow the rules about keeping people's information private in Europe.
