Jeff Bezos walks off as the Chief Executive Officer and Andy Jassy to take over!
Amazon announced its new Chief Executive Officer-Andy Jassy, currently serving as the chief executive of Amazon Web Services, the company’s fast-growing cloud computing business.
The change in the executive structure of the company has been announced as for the first time, Amazon reported its third consecutive record profit and quarterly sales above $100 billion.
Vacations brought a hike in net sales
According to IBES data from Refinitiv. due to the high consumption of the produces of the largest online retailer, net sales rose to $125.56 billion
The company established 27 years ago by the then internet bookseller, Bezos says on this note that "As Exec Chair I will stay engaged in important Amazon initiatives but also have the time and energy I need to focus on the Day 1 Fund, the Bezos Earth Fund, Blue Origin, The Washington Post, and my other passions." He further says, "I've never had more energy, and this isn't about retiring".
