Google-Check your respiratory rate via phone
Your phone will be your health checker, sounds interesting, isn't it?
Google soon to come up with a new feature to assess your heart and respiratory rate through your mobile phones.
The measurement feature to be rolled out by Google will be accessed by the next month in the Google Fit app on Pixel phones.

It would be needing a smartphone eye and an optical flow-computer vision technique for the detection of respiratory rate via definite movements in the chest for the measurement of respiratory rate. On the other hand, a smartphone camera will detect subtle color changes in the fingertip that occurs when the freshly oxygenated blood flows from your heart to your body.
Shwetak Patel, director of Health Technologies, Google Health, says that “Google Fit will allow you to measure your heart rate and respiratory rate using just your phone’s camera. These features will be available in the Google Fit app for Pixel phones, with plans to expand to more Android devices.''
“To measure your respiratory rate, you just need to place your head and upper torso in view of your phone’s front-facing camera and breathe normally. To measure your heart rate, simply place your finger on the rear-facing camera lens," he added.
According to Patel, the feature isn't for medical diagnosis or to evaluate medical conditions rather it advances day-to-day wellness, as the measurements can be saved in the app to monitor trends over time along with the consumption of health and wellness information.
For the same purpose, Google had accomplished clinical validation with people having different heart status, in different lightning, skin tones, and diverse heart rate ranges such as users sitting at rest and in motion.
