Reliance Jio has introduced JioSpaceFiber, a groundbreaking satellite-based gigabit broadband service, marking a significant development in India's telecommunications landscape.

This service is designed to provide high-speed internet access across the entire nation, especially in remote and underserved areas. By leveraging satellite technology, JioSpaceFiber aims to bridge the digital divide and bring fast and reliable connectivity to previously inaccessible regions.

Akash Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd, emphasized that JioSpaceFiber aims to offer gigabit-level access to governmental, educational, health, and entertainment services online, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to fully participate in a growing digital society.
To enhance the availability of Jio True5G, even in remote areas, the satellite network will add mobile backhaul capacity. Through a collaboration with SES, Jio will utilize the latest medium earth orbit (MEO) satellite technology, including SES's O3b and O3b mPOWER satellites, to provide reliable and scalable broadband services across India.
John-Paul Hemingway, Chief Strategy Officer at SES, expressed support for India's Digital India initiative and the transformative impact of satellite-based services in both urban and rural areas.
Reliance Jio's existing broadband services, including JioFiber and JioAirFiber, have already provided high-speed broadband to over 450 million Indians through fixed-line and wireless connections. JioSpaceFiber complements this lineup, ensuring that consumers and businesses have access to reliable, fast, and low-latency internet and entertainment services, regardless of their location.
Mukesh Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Industries, highlighted the rapid deployment of 5G cells across India and Jio's contribution to 85% of the country's 5G capacity. Jio's 5G infrastructure, including services like JioFiber and JioAirFiber, is poised to bring 5G access to over 200 million unconnected homes and premises, positioning India as the broadband capital of the world with over 125 million 5G users. He noted that Jio's 5G rollout is powered by a 100% in-house 5G stack, designed, developed, and manufactured entirely by Indian talent.
This announcement reflects India's commitment to expanding high-speed internet access and technology infrastructure, transforming the country into a global leader in telecommunications.
